Investing in the well-being of young adults.

It is imperative that we as a community address the fact that 20,000 youth age out of foster care each year and many are ill-equip to deal with life's challenges. Many of the young adults find themselves homeless, involved in the legal system, or become parents before they are ready.

No youth should age out of foster care alone!

Nearly 40% of youth who age out of foster care ends up homeless.

Less than 3% will earn a college degree.

More than 60% of young women will be pregnant by age 21.

According to the Adoption and Foster Care Reporting System, in 2014 approximately 23,000 youth aged out of the foster care system after not being placed with families. Many of these youth are ill-equipped to deal with independent living, finding employment, assessing health care or continuing their education.
